All you need to know about our high quality Computing Curriculum.

Curriculum & Pedagogy

At The Coombes, we use Kapow as our programme for Computing. The aim of this programme is to teach a comprehensive computing curriculum that meets National Curriculum requirements while developing crucial skills like computational thinking, digital literacy, and online safety. It aims to make learning engaging and transferable, teaching children to be creative, critical thinkers, and responsible digital citizens who can use technology to solve problems and express themselves. The scheme's design supports teachers with planning, resources, and professional development, and it emphasises a progressive, spiral approach to ensure knowledge retention.

The Curriculum Vision is outlined here: Computing Curriculum Vision

National Curriculum topics coverage is detailed in our Curriculum Overview. This details which aspect of computing is being taught in each unit and a brief description of the curriculum content of the unit.
