Rights Respecting Schools
At The Coombes, we are proud to be a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, committed to creating a culture where every child’s rights are respected, valued, and celebrated.

We have achieved the Bronze: Rights Committed Award, which means we are actively embedding the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into our school ethos and daily life.
This involves:
- Teaching children about their rights and responsibilities in an age-appropriate way.
- Promoting respect, equality and fairness across our school community.
- Empowering pupils to have a voice in decisions that affect them.
We are now working towards the Silver: Rights Aware Award, which will deepen our commitment by ensuring children not only learn about rights but also see them in action throughout the school. Our goal is to create an environment where rights are lived and breathed every day.
Together, we are building a school where every child feels safe, respected and heard.
