  • Meeting all visitors to the school, dealing with parent enquiries by telephone
  • Managing parent and staff communications
  • Administration of the school website

  • Good telephone manner
  • Good organisational skills – able to prioritise workload

Job title: Teaching Assistant
Salary: Grade 3 Scale Point 5-6 £19,312-£19,698 FTE
Hours: 30.41 hours a week – Monday – Friday 08:45 – 15:20 (Job share considered)
Contract type: Permanent – Term Time only
Reporting to: Phase Leader

Main purpose
The TA will:

  • Be deployed across the school to support the child or class in line with the National Curriculum, codes of practice and school policies and procedures.

Duties include:

  • Establishing positive relationships with pupils
  • Supporting pupils with activities which support literacy and numeracy skills
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping keep pupils on task
  • Assisting with displaying and presenting pupils' work
  • Assisting with taking pupils on educational visits

The person specification:

  • To be able to communicate with children and staff
  • Working with children, using initiative and responding to their learning needs

General:

  • An awareness of and commitment to equality
  • Basic understanding of health and safety
  • Understanding and implementing child protection procedures
