September 2021 Admissions

Dates for your Diary

This table of events is for those parents and carers who have been notified that their child will be joining us at The Coombes in September. At the moment we cannot be 100% certain as to what access you will have to the school due to COVID restrictions. The plan below works in conjunction with government’s current time line of lifting restrictions, (accurate as of March 2021). All events will follow any COVID restrictions which are in operation on that date.

I appreciate how difficult this makes it for both you and your child to start preparing for the big day. At The Coombes we put your child’s wellbeing at the centre of our planning. With this in mind, our EYFS teachers, Miss Batten and Miss Stevens, have put together a list of events and activities, which will help us to start build those all-important relationships.

Applications for the 2021 to 2022 school year open on 13 November 2020. You can register your child's details with school admissions on the Citizen Portal, to receive reminder emails about when to apply for a school place.

Please read the parent's guide to starting primary school (PDF) document). This contains all statutory information you need to know about applying for a school place.

All children are welcome to stay full-time after the first week, but if parents of summer born children wish them to start part-time only, this can be discussed with the class teacher.

Parents are notified if their application has been successful or unsuccessful at the beginning of the Summer Term.
