OUR MISSION STATEMENT

"with children at heart and in mind"

Our intention is to be a learning community of children and adults working in a holistic way, by integrating spiritual, moral, aesthetic, physical , social, emotional and intellectual strands in our everyday practice.

We aim to create breadth and dynamism in the curriculum by involving the community in the teaching and learning process, by taking the children on excursions, by working in partnership with a special school and through close contact with a variety of institutions locally, nationally and internationally.

Our outdoor environment will be of a quality to match all that is going on inside the school, and will provide a rich and complementary education resource.  We are developing the kind of surroundings which will help children to appreciate and understand the world.

We teach the requirements of the Foundation Stage, the KS1 National Curriculum, the National Literacy Strategy and the National Numeracy Strategy.  More importantly, we go beyond this by offering a stream of first-hand experiences which anchor education in the real world and which support an authentic curriculum.

Our purpose is to be a nurturing, learning community where the adult group teaches by example.  The underlying principle is that we care for each other.
