In developing the grounds we have built a number of pathways that combine to make over a mile of interconnecting pathways. They have different start and finish points, different textures underfoot - from the hard concrete inset with coins of penny pathway to the springier texture of the bark chipping pathway. Where the pathways have overhanging trees, they are managed so that the walkways are child height, adults have to bend! They offer light and dark, shade or open sky, and the patterns of light and dark. They connect one interesting feature to another. Where the children are near to car parking areas, they offer safe routes. |
