PTA

The Coombes School and neighbouring Junior School have a very active joint Parents and Teachers' Association, here called the Schools' Association. It is run by an elected committee, executive Members and willing volunteers who all give as much time as they can to plan and put on a variety of events throughout the school year. The events make use of the facilities of both schools and are a mixture designed to appeal to both adults and children. We put on themed discos twice a term; an auction of Prizes and Promises; a Summer Fete; themed dinners; car boot sales; Ice-skating and so on. As the membership changes, new members inject vitality into the Association and we raise thousands of pounds every year. The money is used to fund the running costs of the Swimming Pool on the Junior School site. The balance is then shared between the two schools to pay for things that could otherwise not be paid for out of the Schools' budgets such as extra equipment, visiting theatre groups, trips out etc. Both Schools are very grateful for this support.
