Home and School Partnership

Home School Agreement      Map of School Grounds

We have found that close cooperation between home and school is in the best interests of every child. We encourage parents and other family members to visit the school to work alongside us. We hope that YOU will become as fully involved in the life of the school as possible.

You are welcome to visit us at any time: while the school is in session it is difficult to stop and answer specific questions about the children;  if you wish to ask about your child, please see the teacher after school or telephone for an appointment.

Please make sure we have regularly updated home/work contacts and emergency contact telephone numbers.

The security of the children is paramount. All visitors are required to sign the visitors’ book at the school office and wear a school visitor’s badge. All staff have been vetted by DBS checks.

We hope that every child will read every day at home: we ask you to purchase a book bag so that reading books do not get damaged on the way to and from school. These are available in the school office.

From year 1 the children will be asked to complete some homework. The amount and regularity of this varies in each year group: please talk to your child’s teacher and see our homework policy.

Children in the early years have a reading record that they take home with their reading books: these records also act as an additional home-school link. Junior age children have a Reading Record and homework Planner.

We operate Lending Libraries for early years and junior children and have two libraries.

You will be invited to attend formal Parent’s Evenings at least once a year, during which you will be able to discuss your child’s achievements and progress.

You may also request an appointment with the teacher(s) at a time convenient to you both.

We hold a variety of Curriculum Workshop sessions throughout the year: do please try to attend these sessions so that you are as fully informed and involved as possible.

You will also be invited to a range of special events (concerts, displays of work, exhibitions and sporting events etc.)

Please come and support your child as much as possible.
